Village Square"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The village square (piazza) has always been the Teatro Povero\u2019s most important location.\u00a0 It\u2019s a physical space, and also a symbolic space.\u00a0 It\u2019s here that our theatre was born, in an encounter between life and the representation of life, between ourselves and outside.\u00a0 This location, together with its imporance and its significance, was the subject of one of our most important shows\u2014the one mounted in 1981, and entitled precisely <a title=\"The village square\" href=\"https:\/\/teatropovero.it\/en\/ospitalita-monticchiello\/la-piazza\/\"><strong><em>La piazza<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>We have had two physical locations in succession.\u00a0 First <strong><em>St Martin\u2019s Square (Piazza San Martino)<\/em><\/strong>, where our summer plays were staged until 2003; and now the <strong><em>Commenda Square (Piazza della Commenda)<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In Monticchiello we haven\u2019t yet learned to say \u2018We\u2019re going on stage\u2019; for everybody, taking part in one of our shows has always meant
