{"id":1142,"date":"2015-04-07T20:27:24","date_gmt":"2015-04-07T20:27:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/teatropovero.it\/spettacoli-teatro-povero\/un-filo-di-creta-2\/"},"modified":"2016-05-02T20:39:49","modified_gmt":"2016-05-02T20:39:49","slug":"un-filo-di-creta","status":"publish","type":"season","link":"https:\/\/teatropovero.it\/en\/spettacoli-teatro-povero\/un-filo-di-creta\/","title":{"rendered":"Unfilodicreta\u00a0 (Aridane\u2019s Thread \/ Clayline)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/teatropovero.it\/_mamawp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/1992.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-394 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/teatropovero.it\/_mamawp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/1992.jpg\" alt=\"1992\" width=\"274\" height=\"397\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme was \u2018disorientation\u2019, and the title is a play on words.\u00a0 Ariadne\u2019s thread <em>(filo)<\/em> in the myth was the key to the labyrinth of Crete <em>(Creta)<\/em>, where the monster had to be found and killed.\u00a0 But <em>creta<\/em> is also the clay soil of the Val d\u2019Orcia, to which the people of this zone have been attached and in which (like it or not) they find some of their identity.\u00a0 In the labyrinth of modern life, beset with contradictory advice and information, is this <em>creta<\/em>\/clay something to hang on to, something to guide Monticchiello through the maze?<\/p>\n<p>As usual, the village explored its theme via two separate historical moments\u2014before and after the collapse of traditional peasant life and values.<\/p>\n<p>The first act was set in the peasant world of the late 1950s, the moment when the sharecropping system was falling into an incurable crisis, and about to collapse.\u00a0 On the one hand this seemed to offer an unheard-of liberation to the peasants, a relief from subordination to the landlord.\u00a0 On the other hand, though, the possibility of acquiring for themselves the land (the \u2018clay\u2019) which they farmed was disturbing, and the resulting financial independence was difficult to contemplate.<\/p>\n<p>The second act, notionally set in modern times, started with an implausible festival in which clay, as a substance, was celebrated.\u00a0 This was transformed into a fragmentary set of disconnected maze-like images, all expressing the uncertainty and disorientation which the modern world can provoke.\u00a0 It led to a suggestion that attachment to the \u2018clay\u2019, to the earth on which Monticchiello stands, might provide a sense of security\u2014a \u2018thread\u2019 which would show an exit from the labyrinth.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":394,"template":"","class_list":["post-1142","season","type-season","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category_season-autodramma-en","category_season-show"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 -
