In a year which celebrated the 30th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, and Italy’s liberation from fascism, the Teatro Povero decided to stage once again the play mounted in 1969—its dramatization of the Battle of Monticchiello and the last-minute reprieve from massacre.
This is the only occasion when the text of an autodramma has been repeated.
