MONTICCHIELLO (PIENZA) – The Teatro Povero di Monticchiello presents its theatrical workshops, open to all ages: courses for children, boys (free) and for adults. The first meeting will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 3:30 pm, at Teatrino della Compagnia of the village of Valdorcia.
Many come to see them every summer, mixing with them on Monticchiello’s square / stage: a popular audience who has learned to recognize the actresses and actors of the Poor Theater, their particular form of expression called “autodrama”. They are women and men, children and the elderly, committed to the art of being themselves, a community of generations engaged in a theatrical and social project at the same time. Their theatrical strength is also the only way to take a stand: a genuine popular expression, rich in dignity, never pleasing or free. Monticchiello really believes that the theater is for everyone, so everyone can participate; enriched in the group and enriching it in turn. And this spirit is what animates the laboratories with which the Poor Theater opens its doors to those who want to get closer to the experience: for the younger ones, with courses for children (5-8 years) and boys (9 – 14 years) offered free of charge every two weeks, from October to late March; but also for the big ones, with a course dedicated to adults who takes the name of The Art of being themselves, from October to April.
The first meeting / presentation of the workshops will be Saturday, October 7 at 15:30, at the Teatro della Compagnia di Monticchiello.

LABORATORY CHILDREN AND BOYS
The children’s laboratory meetings will last 2 hours, those of the young 3 hours.
Each workshop concludes with a theatrical performance. The workshop for the young is structured in the form of guided improvisation: Laboratory meetings are a “workout” course where the children are preparing to face a great journey. In this way each exercise is experienced within a narrative context that stimulates the participation of individuals, enhances mutual aid and fosters the creation of a cohesive and determined group towards a common goal. The final show turns out to be the natural end of a journey: the children have received the tools to face the journey, can live it serenely and participate actively. Course Leader: Alessandro Manzini
ADULT LABORATORY – THE ART TO BE IF YOU ARE
Who are we? What peculiarities do we have? How do we share them?
The lab aims, through group games and exercises and the discovery of some theatrical techniques, to deepen the communicative and relational skills of the participants by addressing them to a shared cultural and artistic path. The lab is open to those who (with or without theatrical experience) are interested in knowing and developing their expressive peculiarities and sharing of experiences, but also those who want to tickle their imagination and intuition, finalizing everything to a common performance performing.
